DIRECTIONS TO ROCK HAWK EFFIGY, EDUCATIONAL TRAILS & PARK:

Rock Hawk is 12 miles east of downtown Eatonton, GA 31024 on Georgia Highway 16 (The Historic Piedmont Scenic Byway) and Lake Oconee at Georgia Power’s Wallace Dam. From Georgia Highway 16 between mile marker 22 and 23 turn north onto Wallace Dam Road (large entry sign) and follow the signs to parking areas and attractions. For GPS guidance enter 125 Wallace Dam Road, Eatonton, GA 31024 in Putnam County. See maps on www.rockhawk.org.

SIMPLE POSSIBLY LONGER ROUTES: Eatonton is accessed from the north and south by US Highway 441 and Georgia 16 east towards Sparta can be taken from the US 441 intersection in Eatonton. From the north on Interstate 20, Exit 114 (Madison), take US 441 south to Eatonton. From the south take US 441 from Milledgeville to Eatonton.

SHORTER MORE COMPLICATED ROUTES:

Traveling East from Atlanta on Interstate 20 take Exit 114 (Madison) and turn right (south) onto US 441and turn left on Harmony Road 11 miles south of Interstate 20, travel through the light at the Georgia Highway 44 intersection (Harmony becomes Old Phoenix Rd.) to the dead end at Georgia 16 and turn left or east to Rock Hawk.

Traveling West on Interstate 20 from Augusta take exit 130, Greensboro, onto Georgia Highway 44, Lake Oconee Parkway, south toward Eatonton. Pass the Publix shopping center (red light) to the next red light (about 2 miles) and turn left onto Old Phoenix Rd. (at the intersection is McDonalds on right and Crowe Marine on left). Take Old Phoenix until it dead ends at Georgia Highway 16 (the Historic Piedmont Scenic Byway) and turn left or east toward Sparta past mile marker 22 and watch for the signs, then turn left onto Wallace Dam Rd. and follow the Effigy and Trails signs. From the south take US 441 from Milledgeville across Lake Sinclair into Putnam County and at the first light in Putnam take Pea Ridge Road to the right (left is Twin Bridges Rd.) to the dead end at Georgia 16 and turn right or east to Rock Hawk.

From Milledgeville, GA take US Highway 441 north into Putnam County and turn right at the red light at Pea Ridge Rd. and turn right or north. Follow Pea Ridge until it dead ends at Georgia Highway 16 (the Historic Piedmont Scenic Byway) and turn right or east toward Sparta past mile marker 22 and watch for the signs, then turn left onto Wallace Dam Rd. and follow the Effigy and Trails signs.

From Macon, GA take US Highway 129 through Gray (left turn in Gray) into Putnam County to flashing light at Highway 212 and turn right. Travel one mile on 212 to Twin Bridges Rd and turn left (Twin Bridges will turn right at the stop sign as you cross the bridge over Lake Sinclair) continue to the red light at US 441 and continue (road name changes to Pea Ridge Rd.). Take Pea Ridge until it dead ends at Georgia Highway 16 (The Historic Piedmont Scenic Byway) and turn right and stay on 16 until mile marker 22 is passed and look for signs to turn left on Wallace Dam Rd into Rock Hawk.
